Kanu Lawyer Has Been Barred From Entering Court Five Times

A lawyer who came from the United States to defend Nnamdi Kanu said it was the fifth time he had been barred from entering court by security forces on Wednesday. NDE Trains 180 Youth on Advanced Business in Sokoto

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), in Sokoto has successfully trained no fewer than 180 beneficiaries of Special Public Works, on Advanced Business Training. Speaking at the end of the two days training on Tuesday at Fatima College of Nursing Sciences in Sifawa, Bodinga Local Goverment of Sokoto State, the Director-General (DG) of NDE, Malam Abubakar Fikpo urged the participants to put the training into practice. 92 Feared Dead As Oil Tanker Explodes in Sierra Leone

Fake Messages Sent by Nigerians on WhatsApp

Nigeria: South-East Governors on IPOB

Bandits Flee Zamfara Attacks, Dominate Sokoto

Abba Kyari To Be Suspended From Nigeria Police Force

Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba has demanded the suspension of Abba Kyari from the police force on charges of accepting bribes from Hushpuppy.  The IGP also set up a four-member committee headed by DIG Joseph Egbunike to investigate allegations against Abba Kyari, deputy commissioner of police and head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT).  Usman Alkali recommended the suspension in a letter to the Police Service Commission on Saturday, saying the measure was "one of the disciplinary measures of the police force".  Abba Kyari is accused of accepting bribes from a young Nigerian and American resident Ramon Abbas, better known as Hushpuppy, for arresting and abusing a business associate.  Kyari has denied the allegations.

Bandits Shot Down Nigerian Airforce Jet

A Nigerian military plane has crashed in the northwestern state of Zamfara after being opened fire by robbers. IPOB Leader Nmandi Kanu Arrested

Authorities in Nigeria say Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the separatist group IPOB, has been arrested. The Minister of Justice and Antoni General Abubakar Malami confirmed the arrest of Mr Kanu at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday. He added that the IPOB chairman was arrested on Sunday and would be arraigned in court on charges of seeking secession from Nigeria. Kanu is facing charges of treason which has led to him being arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja for his campaign for the creation of Biafra through IPOB. He is accused of "uniting extremist groups, spreading false information, possessing illegal weapons and importing illicit goods into Nigeria," Malami said. In April 2017 he was granted bail on medical grounds but escaped from the country. Nigerian security forces later declared IPOB a terrorist organization
