NDE Trains 180 Youth on Advanced Business in Sokoto

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), in Sokoto has successfully trained no fewer than 180 beneficiaries of Special Public Works, on Advanced Business Training.

Speaking at the end of the two days training on Tuesday at Fatima College of Nursing Sciences in Sifawa, Bodinga Local Goverment of Sokoto State, the Director-General (DG) of NDE, Malam Abubakar Fikpo urged the participants to put the training into practice.

Fikpo said this would make them to be self-reliant and employers of labour.

Represented by Sokoto State NDE Coordinator Mrs Euniche J. Danmallam, the DG said the training was aimed at empowering participants to make judicious use of the allowances paid by the Federal Government.

According to her, Sokoto State as one of the benefiting states with 23 Local Governments recruited 23,000 youths to participate in the program which lasted three months at the end of which participants were paid 60,000 naira as their allowances.

In his remarks, reperesentative of Director, Special Public Works, NDE headquarters, Alhaji Idris Mahamud, said "objective of the training was to improve capacity of beneficiaries to manage enterprises efficiently and effectively". He also told participants that the training was to enhance their productivity and enable them know rules of business in Nigeria.

He urged the participants to focus on the training as they are lucky to be counted among those to benefit from the program and finally called them to use what they learnt in order to be self-reliant.

In his goodwill message, the District Head of Bodinga, Muhammadu Bello Abdulra'uf, who was represented by Ciroman Bodinga Alhaji Mohammad Abdulra'uf, urged the participants to utilize the skills taught them accordingly and should thank the Federal Government for its efforts in creating job opportunities for the youths in Nigeria.

However, Ciroman Bodinga advised them to use skills well, as NDE may abruptly visit them to know whether they stick to what they have been taught. Some of the beneficiaries interviewed expressed their appreciation and promised to use this opportunity in building themselves and society.

Iran seeks talks with us after threat of attack – Trump
