Buhari Mourns the Loss of Nigerian Soldiers.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum are mourning the death of Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu by ISWAP militants on Saturday.

The president said he was "deeply saddened" by the news of the death of the general and three other soldiers who were ambushed by gunmen in Askira Uba, Borno State.

 "I am not happy about the death of General Dzarma Zirkusu and the three soldiers who sacrificed their lives. Nigeria has lost its courage. I commend their efforts. May God have mercy on them," Buhari said in a statement from his palace.

On the other hand, Governor Zulum also offered his condolences to the Nigerian Army, thanking all the troops for what he called their "commitment to Nigeria".

Nigerian soldiers have been killed in an ambush by ISWAP militants on their base in Askira Uba.

The military killed several militants and destroyed their weapons in the fighting, according to a report by the Nigerian military.
