Dawn of African Women

Africa is a continent with rich history and culture. Many europeans tried to put eyes on the continent, visited for either exploration or trade, which at the time was a kind of slavery before later reverting to the trade of essential commodities such as peanuts, cotton, animal skins and the like. The arrival of Arabs in some African provinces of the time, including the so-called "Sudan" region, which included Sudan, Nigeria, Chad, and parts of the Republic of Niger, led to the spread of Islam and the culture of the East.
Later, the arrival of the Europeans brought Christianity, Western education and other Western-style policies.
Africa is slowly evolving to different levels; from the darkness of the head to the dawn of today.Religious and modern education have taken root in African countries, but women are still lagging behind in this journey.
You will often find women in rural areas and even some African cities in a state of poverty and ignorance without access to adequate education.
Every day, women are seen carrying firewood, some with baby on their backs heading for streams or even farms.
There are ethnic groups in northern Nigeria and in the south where their wives farm, raise children and cook at home.
In southern Nigeria, however, there are tribes that deny women the inheritance of their deceased parents.According to these tribes, men have the right to inherit even the wife of the man, even if the deceased was his father.
This situation is due to the lack of modern and religious education that most women have.
In Europe and the United State women have the same cultural and religious freedoms, it is a good thing if in Africa people keep their religion together with their good traditions, and avoid prejudice and greed.
In religion there is no place where every woman is denied inheritance, except for every religion  there  is a unique system and its followers believe in it, and will not tolerate intrusion from others.
This set back is found not only in Africa but also in the Arab and Asian countries, where women's rights are still being curtailed by denying them access to education, self-employment and even religious freedom to marry whomever they want; instead, the choice of their ancestors is their choice whether they like it or not.
And yet, the dark side of some African women right now is seeking help in many ways, including the support of their elders such as parents and husbands and the support of governments and religious leaders as well.

Kanu Lawyer Has Been Barred From Entering Court Five Times

A lawyer who came from the United States to defend Nnamdi Kanu said it was the fifth time he had been barred from entering court by security forces on Wednesday. Mr Bruce Fein alleges that he was the only DSS officer trying to prevent him from participating in the case. "I am his foreign lawyer and despite assurances that the accused can see all his lawyers but this is the fifth time I have been barred from entering his (Kanu's) presence," he said. Speaking to reporters shortly after the adjournment, the team of lawyers threatened to change the court because they felt their client would not be treated fairly. "Based on what we saw today, we do not think this court will do us justice, so we will draw from what we saw today," said one of the lawyers. The Judge, Binta Nyako adjourned the case to January 19th and 20, 2022.
