President Buhari Opens The Nigerian Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2022 in Sokoto

President Muhammadu Buhari  declared open the Nigerian Army Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2022 in Sokoto.
The conference tagged: “Building a Professional Nigerian Army for the 21st Century Security Environment” was commenced at the multipurpose Hall of the International Conference Center Kasarawa, in Sokoto State.
President Buhari said Nigerian Army has over the years demonstrated its capacity and zeal in defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty against external aggression and giving aid to civil authority in mitigating internal security challenges in the country.
He explained that under his administration from 2015 to date, the Nigerian Army has achived a significant success in fighting against insergency particularly in the Nirth East and North West.
He maintained that the troops’ giant strides have led to the mass surrendering of terrorists and their family members in droves. Troops have also maintained this feat, through their operational engagements in other theatres of operations in other parts of the country, with significant successes recorded

In his address, The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal appreciates the President Muhammadu Buhari and Lt General Faruk Yahaya for their untiring support  towards the pursuit of the restoration of peace and security to Nigeria. Tambuwal welcomes the president and other dignitaries to Sokoto, one of the leading peaceful states in the country.
The Nigerian Army under the chief of Army Staffa, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya also  recognised and presented awards to some eminent Nigerians who have in no small measure supported the NA. The reputable Nigerians are Chief Executive Director of Dangote Groups, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, former chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai (Rtd), Chief of Nigeria Custom Service Colonel Hamid Ali (Rtd),a Nigerian entrepreneur, Tony Elumelu, and Chief Executive Director of BUA Company, Alhaji Isiyaka Rabi'u.

Some of the success attained by the Nigerian Army were reviewed during the conference.
